The month of March was a busy one with the annual DRI 2024 event in New Orleans followed closely by DRJ Fall in Orlando. The events, although smaller in size than multi-thousand-person ones, can feel quite large. As an exhibitor and sponsor, we’re tasked with arriving early to set up the booth, collateral, and then quickly change into “work attire” for an evening cocktail reception or kickoff. From then, it’s a whirlwind of 48+ hours.

Participants were very interested in topics surrounding:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Exercising and Testing
  • Real-life practitioners sharing their stories

There were also the classic use cases that always hold a foundation at these events:

  • How to gain executive buy-in
  • How to conduct a new BIA
  • Running your first tabletop

At the DRJ Spring event, we had the honor to co-present with Baylor Scott and White Health. Debi and Rudy gave a powerful presentation during a main session slot about building a program from the ground up, gaining support, protecting your customers (patients), and automating with a simple user experience and reporting. This created a groundswell of audience participation which followed into the hallways and throughout the rest of the event. If you’re in healthcare and looking to network, I’d highly recommend connecting with Debi and Rudy on LinkedIn.

We also had very similar conversations at both events with those who stopped by the booth. Many had either just started their position or inherited it from someone else. Strangely enough, there were a few recurring themes:

  1. Spreadsheets and Word documents are not sustainable to run a program
  2. Data and the delivery of data into real-time dashboards are key to getting “sticky”
  3. Other suppliers in this space have terrible customer support and gouge for every penny
  4. The reliance on the vendor to make software changes is becoming a nightmare

Rounding out both events was getting together with our customers at the booth, or over an evening dinner. For those customers who made the Rocco’s Tacos meal in Orlando, we truly appreciate the comradery and partnership over the best guacamole in town. It’s always refreshing to get end-user feedback to help us commit to our mission of being your trusted partner in risk and resilience. Our success is built on trust and being the digital asset to your program of tying everything together.

As we plan for the upcoming events of GRC Connect Atlanta, Continuity Insights, and our thought leadership event in June, our mission and goals remain the same. We are your strategic partner with customer-driven solutions. We empower users with an intuitive, scalable, and flexible platform for faster implementations, change management, and growing your programs.
